About Quy Vu

Finding Inspiration in Every Turn

Artist Dinh Quy Vu, born on April 20, 1953, in Bach Mai, Hanoi, now stands as the head of the Vietnam Fine Arts Association in Quang Ninh province, but his journey to this esteemed position is a testament to his enduring commitment to the craft. Beginning as a laborer in the coal mines of Ha Tin in 1969, he later found his artistic voice at the Quang Ninh newspaper from 1981 to 1986, where he expressed his talent as an artist. His artistic career took a new turn in 1997 when he joined the provincial literary and artistic association, taking on roles as both an artist and a mentor, nurturing the creative spirit in Quang Ninh.

Dinh Quy Vu's impressive portfolio of achievements is marked by his participation in nationwide art exhibitions spanning multiple decades. His dedication to his craft has been recognized with numerous accolades, including honors from the Vietnamese Fine Arts Association and the prestigious Ha Long Arts Awards. However, at the heart of his creative philosophy lies a deep connection to his roots.

"The sea, where I was born and raised, forms the core of my artistic inspiration. I also delve into the beauty of mountainous regions, driven by my fascination with the resilience of the people who conquer the challenges posed by nature in these locales. Additionally, I captures the nostalgia of coastal life, a place that holds cherished memories of my early years and inspires me to create seascapes that resonate with profound emotions. My life artistic journey is a testament to my enduring commitment to my crafts and the profound connection I maintain with my homeland and its people."
